At Making Thyme Kitchen everything we do is focused on preparing the freshest, healthiest, and best tasting foods for you to enjoy at home.
We make entrées – ready to cook, and heat and eat. We prepare side dishes and fresh salads. We roast vegetables, make pasties and a selection of fresh baked sweets. All made from scratch, all ready to-go.
Our menu of entrées changes monthly, and our deli case changes with the seasons. We make our sauces, marinades and stocks from scratch because often what we leave out is what matters most — extra salt, hidden sugars, additives like msg, and hidden fats.
We use whole fresh foods from local sources whenever possible and work with lean proteins, fruits and vegetables, nuts, whole grains, legumes and lowfat dairy.
We look for entrées from a wide variety of ethnic origins, with a wide variety of flavors—Creole Jambalaya, Lebanese Spinach Pie, Mexican Flank Steak with Salsa Verde, Asian Beef Satay, American Macaroni and Cheese—to name a few. We pick eight entrées for each menu so that you have plenty of options to choose from every month.
We sell our foods from our kitchen and store on Eastern Ave in Alger Heights. Walk-in and pickup what you need for the day or the week. We stock a selection of fresh and frozen entrées, fresh salads and sides, and baked sweets.
Or, pre-order entrées, sides and sweets from our current menu for delivery or pickup. We deliver on Wednesday’s throughout the Grand Rapids area. A minimum order of $75 is required for delivery, and delivery is free within 5 miles of our store. We deliver up to 20 miles with a delivery fee calculated in checkout.
Our retail store and kitchen are located at 2409 Eastern Ave SE in the Alger Heights Business District. Parking is free in Alger Heights – on Eastern Ave, and in the community lot behind our store. We have a back entrance.
We have always been meticulous about the cleanliness of our kitchen and retail space. That’s why we want our customers to be able to see where their food is prepared.
With the virus we have added another layer of protection – we sanitize all the surfaces that customers touch throughout the day, we require everyone to wear a mask, we restrict the number of customers in the store at any one time, we do drop and dash deliveries and curbside pickup.
We follow all the rules, guidelines and best practices to keep our customers and us safe. As a small business we are dependant on staying open and healthy, if we get sick we have to close.
So far our methods have worked and we will continue to do everything we can to keep it this way.
By shopping at small local businesses you keep us open and viable. Thank you for all your help and support, we wouldn’t be open without you.
Need food for 10 or 50? We can accomodate orders for events, meetings or parties. We do not set-up and serve, we just prepare the food for you to pickup.
