FRESH, HEALTHY & LOCAL
GOOD FOOD TO GO
At Making Thyme Kitchen everything we do is focused on preparing the freshest, healthiest, and best tasting foods for you to enjoy at home. We prepare the foods you would make if you had all the time in the world.
We make entrées – ready to cook, and heat and eat. We prepare side dishes and fresh salads. We roast vegetables, make pasties and a selection of fresh baked sweets. All made from scratch, all ready to-go.
Our menu of entrées changes monthly, and our deli case changes with the seasons. We make our sauces, marinades and stocks from scratch because what we leave out is what matters most — extra salt, hidden sugars, preservatives and chemicals.
Singles and couples, with kids and without, new parents, and retirees. Busy people – who want home made quality, want to know who makes their food, and want to see where their food is made – take advantage of our great food and Wednesday delivery service.
By shopping at small local businesses like Making Thyme Kitchen, you keep us open and viable. Thank you for all your support, we wouldn’t be here without you.
We sell our foods from our kitchen and store on Eastern Ave in Alger Heights. We stock a selection of fresh and frozen entrées, fresh salads and sides, and baked sweets.
Or, pre-order entrées, sides and sweets from our current menu for delivery or pickup. We deliver on Wednesday’s throughout the Grand Rapids area. A minimum order of $75 is required for delivery, and delivery is free within 2 miles of our store. The delivery fee is calculated in checkout.
Our retail store and kitchen are located at 2409 Eastern Ave SE in the Alger Heights Business District. Parking is free on Eastern Ave and in the community lot behind our store. We have front and back entrances.
We believe that all changes – big and small – move us in a positive and sustainable direction with the operation of our business.
So we:
Compost all of our organic waste. Over a year we keep 5,000-plus pounds of organic waste out of the landfill;
Recycle all of our paper, cardboard, packaging, and plastics. Our daily trash is down to one bag in the dumpster;
Use to-go product packaging that is rinse and recycle – paper containers without staples, 100% aluminum microwaveable tins, and plastic recyclable lids;
Buy local, organically grown, and certified organic ingredients when possible.
We take all the small steps we can to positively change our business practices. We are constantly looking for ways to improve, and we believe that small steps have a big impact.
Making Thyme Kitchen has partnered exclusively with Harvest Health Foods. We now provide them with fresh ready-to-eat, and heat & eat packaged foods, and cookies.
